Ultimate Cheese Board
Ingredients:
2-3 different cheeses— Think variety (firm, soft, and semi soft). I always start with two firm cheeses, such as Parmigiano-Reggiano and aged cheddar, and then balance those with a soft cheese such as Brie and/or semi-soft such as Swiss.
2-4 different meats— Use a variety of Italian cured meats. My must haves are Proscuitto di Parma and two types of salami (Genoa and Sopressata).
Accompaniments— Along with a variety of crackers/bread, I think fresh, sweet, salty, and tangy.
Fresh: Fruits & Vegetables
Sweet: Honey, jam, dried fruit
Salty & Tangy: nuts, olives, marinated artichokes
Surprise Elements— It’s always nice to add hummus or dip you have on hand, or even a good extra virgin olive oil to dip your bread.
